Bribery
No one is to receive bribes. (Deuteronomy 16:19; 2 Chronicles 19:7; Isaiah 33:15)
Bribery perverts justice and undermines the legal system. (Exodus 23:8; 1 Samuel 8:3; Job 15:34; Psalm 26:9-10; 17:23; Proverbs 29:4; Ecclesiastes 7:7; Isaiah 1:23; 5:23; Ezekiel 13:19; Amos 5:12; Matthew 26:14-15)
Anyone, in order to receive any advantage, agrees to a bribe in order to modify his testimony must be cut off from the people. (Psalm 51:1, 5)
Those who allow bribery to influence their testimony will be cursed. (Deuteronomy 27:25; Psalm 15:5)
The one who refuses to take such "gifts" will be blessed. (Proverbs 15:27)
When dayanim begin to accept privileges, advantages, benefits of any kind in return for a favorable judgment, the land will be destroyed. (Micah 3:10-11)
