What in the world is "farbrengen"?

Farbrengen (far-BRUNG-in) is Yiddish and comes from the root meaning “to spend time together.” It refers to a gathering which might include study, lessons or devar kathab (short commentary on Scripture). It might also include camaraderie and refreshments with conversation featuring a previously chosen topic of interest.
